Painting and Decorative Finishes

"Dear John and Brad,

I would like to thank you for sending us that letter of introduction eleven years ago. Until then Stirling Design used a great number of Paint/Paper Contractors over the years and none of them met our standards. I won't describe some of the horror stories, but suffice it to say that we would find ourselves making apologies to our clients and vowing to 'never use that one again.' I remember your emphasis in the letter on proper preparation techniques. That impressed us. Most people don't realize preparation is at least 2/3 responsible for the success of the final results. I've agonized at the amount of time it takes to prepare a room for paint wanting it to magically be done; but at the same time am so proud that you take that time to build the proper foundation. I've watched your men go over walls with bright lights between coats looking for imperfections. I've had your paper hanger call me from a job saying 'please come look at these seams' because they thought it might not be perfect. I love that you cheerfully come back after a job is finished if something was inadvertently missed. The men who work for you are the kind one likes having in their house; friendly, neat and on time. They take pride in their work and just beam if you notice something they are doing.
